Writing Tips
Listen
If you’re a writer, you love words. So make a point of listening to the way other people use them.

A four year old who does not know the word “dizzy" says, “My head feels up and down and all around." A teenage girl in a coffee shop says “He was like, ‘right’, and I was like, ‘whatever’...". A grown man, napping in a chair, suddenly wakes and says, “Really? Where’s the goat?"

Try carrying a notebook with you for a week. Collect sentences that intrigue you, and read them over later for ideas.
