Tenacity, Part I (cont'd)
I’ve come to believe that tenacity is the single most important thing that separates the eventually published author from the eternal wannabe.

Talent? You’ve got a certain amount, or you wouldn’t be drawn to writing. But I’ve seen lots of talented people go through my classes, and the ones with the most natural ability are not always the ones who eventually get published.

The ones who get published are the ones who are in it for the duration. No matter what happens, no matter the setbacks, no matter the dashed hopes, they always end up going back to the page. They work. They get better. They write the story that comes to them, with all the integrity and passion they possess.

They get published. Or not.

They write some more.
